| This course is meant to increase students' knowledge and skills within the counselling realm while working
with clients who deal with a variety of issues commonly encountered in today's contemporary society such
as suicide, rape, substance abuse, teenage sexuality, homosexuality, violence, child abuse, teenage
depression etc. Special attention will be given to incorporating various theoretical orientations, counselling
interventions, and unique approaches while working with diverse and at risk population.
