| Many of our activities have undesirable effects on the environment. The module deals with the types of hazard, risk from pollutants, hazardous wastes, soil, water (including marine pollution) and air pollution, the major classes of contaminants and their impacts, and pollution control. The main goals of ecotoxicology are discussed with focus on the concept of bioaccumulation, effects of toxicants at various levels of organization in the environment, and disaster response. Bioremediation technologies are introduced. |
