Description
In this unit, students will be exposed to a range of approaches to disease control from a multidisciplinary perspective. An overall model for understanding infectious disease from prevention through to cure will be presented. In addition vector-pathogen, biochemical and molecular interactions will be considered. Students will be shown how an understanding of these interactions can be exploited in control by vaccines, chemotherapy and insecticides.
