This module will first focus on the value of biodiversity and explore species extinction and review the current threats to both global and local biodiversity. The various strategies to conserve biodiversity will then be presented and discussed with amploe reference to actual case studies. Aspects of restoration ecology will be covered. The module will end on international conventions and national legislation on biodiversity conservation.
