The overarching aim of this module is to provide knowledge of some basic concepts and methods in
Statistics reflecting the growing importance of statistical techniques in Library and Information
Science.
Topics will cover: Introduction to Statistics. Data comparisons in the library environment. Presenting
numerical data in tables, charts & graphs. Measures of location. Measures of variability. Time series,
seasonality & indexing. Correlation and regression analysis. Data collection & sampling.
