This module introduces students to the history, terminology and techniqes of drama, by combining studies of texts and dramatic theory. We will read a sampling of plays that exemplify different kinds of dramatic structure/genre. Our readings will place the plays within their historical and cultural contexts so that we may investigate how drama engages with the concerns of the time.
