| The module aims at training students to identify, elaborate and manage the different stages of a research
project in language studies: literature search, definition of the problem/research question, formulation of
hypotheses, aims of research, choice of theoretical framework, methodological tools, data collection, data
analysis and interpretation. Special attention will be paid to the specificities of the language corpus, and to
the literature available on the Mauritian situation. Taking into account the particularities of the Anglophone and Francophone approaches to same phenomenon, the issue of objectivity of the scientific discourse as
socio-historically situated, will be discussed. The Module will be examined 50% written Exams.
Ce module vise à former les étudiants à identifier, élaborer et gérer les différentes étapes d'un projet de
recherche en sciences du langage: recherche documentaire, définition de la problématique, formulation des
hypothèses et des objectifs, choix du cadre théorique, aspects méthodologiques, construction de corpus et
analyse, interprétation des résultats. Une attention spéciale sera accordée au corpus linguistique dans ce
qui fait sa spécificité ainsi qu'a la bibliographie disponible en linguistique sur le contexte mauricien. En
partant des particularités inhérentes à l'approche anglophone et francophone d'un même phénomène, on
abordera la question de l'objectivité scientifique en tant que discours socio-historiquement situé. |
