Students will be introduced to the methodology of undertaking comparative studies by looking at the two themes of slavery and indenture across continents. The different types of slavery, differing outcomes of emancipation and its impact on the indentured system and the descendants of slaves and indentured, will be examined through a series of case studies and particular themes.
