This module will acquaint the student with a linguistic background which will help him/her to understand Linguistics as a field of study in relation to Tamil Language. It will enable the student to describe the phonological system of the language and equip him/her with the techniques to identify the morphemes and describe Tamil Morphology. It will also provide the student with a general background of syntactic and semantic analysis of Tamil Language.
