| This will be an introductory programme on heritage management. It will examine national and international legislation; Administrative management / administration (methodology to prepare budgets, reports, plans, planning in heritage institutions for e.g. overview of history of heritage institutions (NGOs, governmental institutions); museum management; management of historic sites (using concrete examples); recording and management of heritage data such as oral, archival data (recording, computerization, interpretation…); cultural tourism and visitor management ; communication and promotion of heritage sites and museums; Protection of heritage sites through legislative and planning parameters (role of buffer zones and heritage precincts). |
