This course focuses on the development of ELT from the traditional Grammar Translation Method to Communicative Language Teaching including Content-based Teaching and Task-based learning. Particular attention will be given to CLT and the role it plays in the teaching of receptive and productive skills, grammar and vocabulary, syllabus design and testing and evaluation.
