This GEM covers key aspects of the History of Mauritius from the colonial period till independence. Teaching basic understandings of the study of history will sharpen the students' knowledge of History. Module will cover the social, economic and political aspects of the Dutch, French and British period in Mauritius. Topics on slavery and Identured will provide a historical overview of the peopling of the island. This module includes site vists as well as the study of historical sites of Mauritius.
