Description
Bio-farming for safe and suitable animal food production for protection of consumers' health and facilitation of trade. Principles of bio-farming for good agricultural, hygienic and animal husbandry practices to maintain integrity of entire food chain. Relative role of producers. Bio-faming practices and control measures. Validation of their effectiveness. Setting-up of animal welfare standards. Mitigating impact of animal agriculture on the environment. Judicious use of, and regulatory framework for, veterinary drugs in food-producing animals. Responsible and prudent use of antimicrobials to minimise and contain antimicrobial resistance. Adhering to good animal feeding practices and good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Reducing aflatoxin B1 in raw materials and feeds. Case Studies: Bio-farming - issues, benefits
