Components of the climate system. Global energy balance. Need for climate modelling. History of climate modelling. Types of climate models: Energy balance models and Carbon cycle models, General Circulation Models (GCMs), Regional Climate Models (RCMs). Sensitivity of climate models and feedback: evaluation of climate model simulations and climate change scenarios. Climate model predictions and mitigation, Future of climate modelling.
