| This module introduces the student to the field of clinical psychology. It will look at historical and current
paradigms in psychopathology and therapy, classification, diagnosis and assessment. Psychological
disorders will be considered in terms of their characteristics, prevalence, aetiology and therapy. The
following topics will be covered in this module- Introduction to Clinical Psychology, Classification of
disorders, Psychotherapy, Substance-related disorders, Mood disorders, Suicide, Personality disorders,
Schizophrenia, Gender Identity disorders, Disorders of Childhood, Developmental disorders and Mental
