| This module covers the development and maintenance process of a website. Students will gain experience
on how to use HTML5 and CSS3, how to upload files and images using FTP to a web server. They will
experience the use of code to add text, graphics, links, tables, forms, animations. They will also learn how
to use and customise Content Management Systems (e.g. Wordpress, Drupal), and be made aware how to
manage web servers. Students will be shown how to create blogs and mashups as well as how to link to
and use social media (e.g. twitter, facebook, friendfeed) to create interaction and traffic. Practical work
will include the use of a CMS in order to be able to develop an online newspaper or ezine for the Digital
Reporting module in Level 3. (Note: Examination will be lab-based)
