The Research Project is an original and closely supervised work of research not exceeding 6,000
words (excluding footnotes and bibliography. Each student is expected to start developing and
defining his/her ideas about the Research Project in consultation with a supervisor during the
second year. This process of selecting and refining a Research Project topic will be conducted in
the context of Departmental areas of concentration as well as individualised readings. Students
have to research and organise their readings throughout their second year. After consulting with
his/her supervisor, each student will submit a Research Project proposal (2-3 pages excluding a
Bibliography) at the end of the second year.
