Description
This course is designed to introduce students to ‘doing’ history: in other words, to the methods historians use to study history in the 21st century. It also aims at preparing students for their 3rd year dissertation by initiating them to preparing a research proposal and introducing them to research methods. Students will first be given a brief background in the evolution of the study of history which will be followed by detailed analysis of different sources of historical information and different methodologies used in collection, sorting, analysing and interpreting historical information.
