Description
The module aims at critically examining contemporary Mauritius through an in-depth study of Mauritian
politics, institutions, cultural diversity and practices of heritage management by the State and heritage
organizations. It will use a historical perspective to explore determining twentieth-century social, political and
economic conditions that shaped the contemporary multi-ethnic Mauritian society and political institutions. It
will also focus on impact of globalisation.
