| This module proposes a study of a selection of different playwrights from different periods, ranging
from Sophocles to William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe, Arthur Miller to Lorraine
Hansberry, Bertolt Brecht to Bernard Shaw, Henrik Ibsen to Eugene O’Neill, and Wole Soyinka to
Badal Sircar. Students will study theatre terms as well as use the plays as ground for investigation on
the art of acting. They will also analyse the relationship between dramatic art and performance. |
