This module is aimed at developing a student’s understanding of historical sources and how oral
testimonies can be used in specific circumstances and at developing a student’s understanding of the
importance of oral data as historical sources of knowledge and as anthropological sources. Students
will also gain an understanding of the theoretical debates about oral history and be required to
undertake interviews as part of assignments.
