This module will examine the development of the press/media in Mauritius from a historical and
comparative perspective. It will focus on the political, economic and social dynamics in the evolution of
the press. The role of the press in colonial and post-colonial Mauritius, as well as cultural, linguistic and
technological issues will be addressed.
