| This module is a survey of the political, economic and social transformation of Asia since the second
half of the 19th century (Part 1 focusing on Indian and part 2 on special China and Japan). Major topics
include: the Western impact and Asian response, the rise of nationalism and communism, internal
politics and international and regional conflicts, the impact of the Cold War, the contemporary
economic development of India, Japan and China. |
