The aim of this module is to give students the opportunity to look in more breadth and depth at certain
topics in the field of Applied Linguistics. This yearly module will focus on at least two key areas in
the field of Applied Linguistics. These might include literacy, discourse analysis, language and
gender, World Englishes. The topics explored will depend on the interests of the staff members
teaching the course.
