Description
This module will invite students to reflect on the concept of security. It will analyse the evolution of the concept of security in the study of international relations. It is also assess contemporary security threats and how states and non-state actors respond to them. Students will develop a critical appreciation of ŠUniversity of Mauritius 2016 Page 11 recent security controversies like the leaking of classified intelligence material and the increasing use of private security companies in several flashpoints around the world.
