Key areas of Biosecurity: Conceptual Biosecurity, Structural Biosecurity and Procedural Biosecurity in animal production enterprises, a farm to fork approach. Concepts of bio-security and control measures for poultry, pig, and dairy production systems. Components of a biosecurity plan. Cleaning and disinfection of farms: types of chemicals and dosage; Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), active constituents. Standard operating practices and checklist for cleaning and disinfection. Dead animal disposal. Contingency plans: objectives, resources (information, human, financial, infrastructure, equipment). |
