ENG 5214 – CYBERCULTURES
This module will consider some of the ways in which the digital revolution has reconfigured
experiences of self and community with reference to Turkle's concept of 'distributed
identities', Nakamura's concepts of 'techno-orientalism', 'identity tourism' and Haraway's
'posthuman cyborgs'. It will also examine the transformations to traditional literary genres of
poetry and fiction through the use of hypertext features.
