Description
This module will explore the representation, politics and dynamics of race in a selection of multiethnic American literature in relation to contemporary debates over multiculturalism, transnationalism and panethnicity. Students will investigate the constructions of identities and the politics of intercultural encounters among different ethnic groups in response to social, historical, political, ideological and economic conditions in the United States. The focus will be on the connections between literature and cultural politics.
