During Year 2, students are expected to start developing and defining their ideas about the Research
Project in consultation with a supervisor. Students will research and organise their readings throughout
the second year. The process of selecting and refining a Research Project topic in French will be
conducted in the context of Departmental areas of concentration as well as individualised readings. Each
student will submit a Research Project proposal (2-3 pages excluding a Bibliography) upon request by
the Department.
In Year 3, students will be expected to complete a Research Project based on an investigative
undertaking, a structured, organised experiential learning including design work or fieldwork in a
chosen field of study. The number of words in the Research Project shall be between 6,000 to 8,000
words (excluding footnotes, bibliography, tables, diagrams, figures).
