Description
This module will include both a terrestrial and a marine component. The terrestrial part will focus mainly on the major terrestrial biomes of the world and the way biodiversity is distributed from the tropics to the poles. Island biogeography will be covered. A range of marine environments will also be surveyed. Topics will include pelagic (plankton) and benthic communities; intertidal ecology and zonation of rocky, sandy and muddy shores; tropical communities such as coral reefs, mangroves and seagrasses.
