This module is designed to introduce social policy from a social problem perspective. In other words, its main focus is on social policy - as a societal response to social problems. Some key areas to be covered are: Construction of social; Gender-based and Interpersonal Violence; Social exclusion and well-being; Sex, sexuality and Discrimination; Alcohol and Drug; Adolescent and Suicide; Housing and Homelessness; Mental Health Services; Prison management and Prisoner's welfare.
